Hawkeye Hooksetters
Multi Species Fishing Club
P.O. Box 2754
Cedar
Rapids, IA 52406
The Hawkeye Hooksetters
is a non-profit organization based out of Cedar
Rapids, Iowa. It’s a fishing club that consists of
people with a common interest. The fact
that we’re a multi-species club makes us somewhat unique. There are six categories for weighing fish at
a tournament. They are Bass, Catfish,
Crappie, Northern, Walleye and White Bass.
Of course we have our rules, limits and so on but opening up the
possibilities with six categories always makes for an interesting
tournament. Because of this, we have a
wide variety of members. We have mostly
buddy teams but also have husband/wife teams, Dad and kids teams and some
people that go single. The “Rookie of
the Year” last year was a young man fishing with his mother. Every year we set aside a day in July to
take the kids from Tananger Place
fishing. We provide lunch, snacks, pop,
ice cream, fishing poles, tackle and all the bait the kids can use. If you want to have fun, meet new friends,
exchange ideas and of course tell fish stories, come and check us out.
We have monthly meetings, every 3rd
Tuesday of every month at the American Legion Hall at 4719 J St. S.W. Cedar
Rapids, IA. at 7 p.m. We have raffle
prizes at every meeting. Non-members are
welcome to attend.
